Dr. Maria Georgatos, O.D.
After graduating with Honours from Queen’s University with her Bachelor of Science, Dr. Maria Georgatos pursued her dream of becoming an Optometrist at the New England College of Optometry in Boston, MA.
Dr. Georgatos has completed externships at various hospitals and community centres in both the US and Canada including, most impressively, the renowned Bascom Palmer in Miami, Florida. While concurrently treating and managing complex diseases of the paediatric population, she was also involved in cutting edge research in amblyopia treatment.
Dr. Georgatos has been practicing Optometry passionately since 2005 and her experience is vast in all areas of Optometry. She enjoys primary care and working with all populations and ages. She prides herself on creating a very memorable experience for the patients in her care.
Dr. Georgatos is a member of the Ontario College of Optometrists and completes extensive continuing education in the US and Canada, thus broadening her knowledge in the ever-changing and exciting field of Optometry. She always strives to be a current and effective Optometrist.
While not in the office, Dr. Maria is a busy mother of two young boys. She enjoys travelling, reading and spending time with her family.
